Dvārakāyāṃ Sāhāyya-vibhāgaḥ (Alliance Allocation at Dvārakā) /
tataḥ śayāne govinde praviveśa suyodhanaḥ | ucchīrṣataḥ kṛṣṇasya niṣasāda varāsane ||
The verse subtly contrasts inner worth with outward positioning: seeking advantage through status and proximity (sitting at the head-side) reflects pride and political maneuvering, whereas dharmic conduct is marked by humility and reverence toward virtue.
As Kṛṣṇa is resting, Duryodhana arrives first, enters the chamber, and seats himself on a fine throne near Kṛṣṇa’s head—setting up a later contrast in how different visitors approach Kṛṣṇa and what that reveals about their intentions.
