धृतराष्ट्रस्य संजयप्रश्नः

Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Inquiry to Saṃjaya on Strategic Comparisons

न चेत्‌ प्रयच्छध्वममित्रघातिनो युधिष्ठटिरस्थ समभीप्सितं स्वकम्‌ । नयामि व: साश्वपदातिकुञ्जरान्‌ दिशं पितृणामशिवां शितैः शरै:,“यदि तुमलोग शत्रुघाती महाराज युधिष्ठिरका अपना अभीष्ट राज्यभाग नहीं लौटाओगे तो मैं तुम्हें अपने तीखे बाणोंद्वारा घोड़े, पैदल तथा हाथीसवारोंसहित यमलोककी अमंगलमयी दिशामें भेज दूँगा'

sañjaya uvāca |

na cet prayacchadhvam amitraghātino yudhiṣṭhirastha samabhīpsitaṃ svakam |

nayāmi vaḥ sāśvapadātikuñjarān diśaṃ pitṝṇām aśivāṃ śitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||

“اگر تم دشمن کُش یُدھشٹھِر کو اس کی مطلوبہ—اس کی اپنی جائز سلطنت کا حصہ—واپس نہ دو گے، تو میں اپنے تیز تیروں سے تمہیں گھڑسوار، پیادے اور ہاتھیوں کے دستوں سمیت پِتروں کی اَشُبھ سمت، یعنی موت کے دیس کی طرف ہانک دوں گا۔”
