Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise

धृतराष्ट्र रवाच सर्वान्‌ वस्तात शोचामि त्यक्तो दुर्योधनो मया । ये मन्दमनुयास्यध्वं यान्तं वैवस्वतक्षयम्‌,धृतराष्ट्र बोले--तात कौरवगण! दुर्योधनको तो मैंने त्याग दिया। यमलोकको जाते हुए उस मूर्खका तुम लोगोंमेंसे जो अनुसरण करेंगे मैं उन सभी लोगोंके लिये शोकमें पड़ा हूँ

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca — sarvān vo ’tāta śocāmi tyakto duryodhano mayā | ye mandam anuyāsyadhvaṃ yāntaṃ vaivasvatakṣayam ||

دھرتراشٹر نے کہا—اے فرزندو! میں تم سب کے لیے غمگین ہوں۔ میں نے دُریودھن کو ترک کر دیا ہے۔ جو لوگ اُس احمق کے پیچھے چلیں گے، جو ویوَسوت (یَم) کے گھر کی طرف جا رہا ہے، اُن سب کے لیے میں رنج میں ڈوبا ہوا ہوں۔
