ह्वीमान् मनीषी बलवान् मनस्वी स लक्ष्मीवान् सोमकानां प्रबर्ह: । न जातु तं॑ शत्रवो<न्ये सहेरन् येषां स स्यादग्रणीर्वष्णिसिंह:,सोमकवंशका वह प्रमुख वीर धृष्टद्युम्म लज्जाशील, बलवान, बुद्धिमान, मनस्वी तथा वीरोचित शोभासे सम्पन्न है। इसी प्रकार वृष्णिवंशमें सिंहके समान पराक्रमी वीरवर सात्यकि जिनके अगुआ हैं, उनके वेगको दूसरे शत्रु कदापि नहीं सह सकते
hvīmān manīṣī balavān manasvī sa lakṣmīvān somakānāṁ prabarhaḥ | na jātu taṁ śatravo 'nye saheran yeṣāṁ sa syād agraṇīr vṛṣṇisiṁhaḥ ||
سومکوں میں یہ پیش رو سورما دِھṛṣṭadyumna—رائے میں دانا، قوت میں توانا، عزم میں ثابت قدم اور نیک بخت—کسی دوسرے دشمن سے ہرگز برداشت نہیں ہو سکتا۔ اور جن کے آگے وِرِشْنیوں کا شیر، پرَاکرم سَاتیَکی سردار بن کر کھڑا ہو، اُن کے یلغار کو کوئی مخالف لشکر سہہ نہیں سکتا۔
