दुष्कुलीन: कुलीनो वा मर्यादां यो न लड्घयेत् । धमपिक्षी मृदुर्हीमान् स कुलीनशताद् वर:
duṣkulīnaḥ kulīno vā maryādāṃ yo na laṅghayet | dharmāpekṣī mṛdur hrīmān sa kulīnaśatād varaḥ ||
خواہ کوئی پست خاندان میں پیدا ہوا ہو یا شریف خاندان میں—جو حدودِ شائستگی نہ توڑے، دھرم کو معیار بنائے، طبیعت میں نرم ہو اور حیا و شرم رکھتا ہو—وہ محض اعلیٰ نسب کے دعوے دار سو آدمیوں سے بھی بہتر ہے۔
