न मर्मगां जातु वक्तासि रूक्षां नोपश्रुतिं कटुकां नोत मुक्ताम् । धर्मारामामर्थवतीमहिंस्रा- मेतां वाचं तव जानीम सूत
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
na marmagāṃ jātu vaktāsi rūkṣāṃ nopśrutiṃ kaṭukāṃ nota muktām |
dharmārāmām arthavatīm ahiṃsrām etāṃ vācaṃ tava jānīma sūta, sūta ||
یُدھِشٹھِر نے کہا—اے سُوت! تمہارے منہ سے کبھی ایسی بات نہیں نکلتی جو مَرم پر ضرب لگائے—نہ درشت، نہ تلخ، نہ بے احتیاطی میں چھوڑی ہوئی۔ تم نہ خشک اور نہ بے محل گفتگو کرتے ہو۔ ہم خوب جانتے ہیں کہ تمہاری بات دھرم کے مطابق ہے—نیکوں کو پسند، مقصد میں بامعنی، اور کسی ضرر رسانی کے ارادے سے پاک۔
