Amba approaches the Paraśurāma context; Hotravāhana’s counsel and Akṛtavraṇa’s report (अम्बोपाख्यानम्—रामदर्शनप्रसङ्गः)
क्व सम्प्रति महाबाहो जामदग्न्य: प्रतापवान् । अकृतत्रण शकयो वै द्रष्टर वेदविदां वर:,“महाबाहु अकृतव्रण! इस समय वेददवेत्ताओंमें श्रेष्ठ और प्रतापी जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामजीका दर्शन कहाँ हो सकता है?”
kva samprati mahābāho jāmadagnyaḥ pratāpavān | akṛtavraṇa śakyo vai draṣṭuṃ vedavidāṃ varaḥ ||
ہوتروواہن نے کہا—“اے مہاباہو اکرت ورن! اس وقت وید کے جاننے والوں میں برتر، صاحبِ جلال جامدگنیہ (پرشورام) کا دیدار کہاں ہو سکتا ہے؟”
होत्रवाहन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical authority attributed to Paraśurāma: true power is framed as grounded in Vedic knowledge and disciplined prowess. In a time of impending conflict, the question implies that guidance from a figure who embodies both ascetic learning and martial capability is especially sought.
Hotravāhana addresses a warrior (called “mighty-armed” and “unwounded”) and asks where Paraśurāma—renowned as Jāmadagnya, illustrious and foremost among Veda-knowers—can presently be found and seen, indicating an attempt to locate him for counsel or intervention.
