अम्बोपाख्याने तापसानां विचारः तथा होत्रवाहनस्य उपदेशः

बन्धुभिवरप्रहीणास्मि शाल्वेन च निराकृता । न च शक्यं पुनर्गन्तुं मया वारणसाह्नयम्‌,'भाई-बन्धुओंसे तो दूर हो ही गयी हूँ। राजा शाल्वने भी मुझे त्याग दिया है। अब मैं हस्तिनापुरमें भी नहीं जा सकती

bandhubhir vara-prahīṇāsmi śālvena ca nirākṛtā | na ca śakyaṃ punar gantuṃ mayā vāraṇasāhvayam ||

‘میں اپنے رشتہ داروں کے سہارے سے محروم ہو چکی ہوں؛ اور راجا شالْو نے بھی مجھے ٹھکرا دیا ہے۔ اب میرے لیے وارانَساہْوَیہ (ہستناپور) واپس جانا بھی ممکن نہیں۔’
