Bhīṣma’s Appointment as Commander-in-Chief
कृष्ण उवाच उक्तवानस्मि यद् वाक्यं धर्मार्थसहितं हितम् । नतु ततन्निकृतिप्रज्ञे कौरव्ये प्रतेतिष्ठति,श्रीकृष्ण बोले--मैंने जो धर्म और अर्थसे युक्त हितकर बात कही है, वह छल-कपट करनेमें ही कुशल कुरुवंशी दुर्योधनके मनमें नहीं बैठती है
kṛṣṇa uvāca | uktavān asmi yad vākyaṃ dharmārthasahitaṃ hitam | na tu tat nikṛtiprajñe kauravye prate tiṣṭhati ||
کرشن نے کہا—میں نے جو بات کہی ہے وہ دھرم اور مصلحتِ کار کے مطابق اور سراسر بھلائی کی ہے؛ مگر فریب و مکاری میں ماہر اس کورَو دُریودھن کے دل میں وہ بات جمتی نہیں۔
