Udyoga Parva, Chapter 140
Krishna’s appraisal of Pandava advantage and war portents
udagātātra punar bhīmaḥ prastotā sumahābalaḥ | vinadan sa naravyāghro nāgānīkāntakūd raṇe ||
The verse highlights kṣatriya resolve: a warrior must step forward decisively, using disciplined ferocity and courage to meet formidable forces (symbolized by elephant-corps), without wavering from duty in the face of danger.
Karna describes Bhīma once again surging to the forefront, loudly roaring and taking up the role of initiating the martial chant/cry, as he advances in battle with the reputation of being a destroyer of elephant formations.
