This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse; its ‘teaching’ is structural: it situates the chapter within the Mahābhārata’s ethical narrative of rightful effort (udyoga) and the attempt to resolve conflict through dharmic counsel and diplomacy before resorting to war.
The verse marks the formal end of the chapter, identifying it as part of the Bhagavad-yāna section and the Gālava episode. It functions as an editorial closure, signaling that the preceding narrative unit has concluded.
