yadyatra na ruciḥ kācid ehi gacchāva mātale | taṃ nayīṣyāmi deśaṃ tvāṃ varaṃ yatro'palapsyase ||
Nārada said: “If you feel no liking for any place here, come, Mātali—let us go. I will lead you to a finer land, where you will find what you seek.”
नारद उवाच
A worthy guide responds to dissatisfaction not with coercion but with direction—helping the seeker move toward a more fitting place or condition where their aim can be fulfilled.
Nārada addresses Mātali and, seeing that Mātali has no particular liking for the present option or location, proposes that they depart; Nārada promises to lead him to a better region where Mātali will obtain what he is looking for.
