भीष्म उवाच स एवमुक्तो मान्धाता तेनोतथ्येन भारत । कृतवानविशड्कश्न एक: प्राप च मेदिनीम्
bhīṣma uvāca | sa evam ukto māndhātā tenotathyena bhārata | kṛtavān aviśaṅkaḥ sa ekaḥ prāpa ca medinīm |
بھیشم نے کہا—اے بھارت کے فرزند! اُتتھْیَہ کی اس طرح نصیحت پانے پر راجا ماندھاتا نے بلا تردّد اُس کے حکم کی تعمیل کی، اور وہ اکیلا ہی تمام زمین پر یکچھتر اقتدار کا مالک بن گیا۔
भीष्म उवाच
When a ruler receives sound guidance from a qualified sage, decisive and doubt-free execution of that counsel leads to stability and success in governance; hesitation and suspicion undermine royal duty.
Bhishma recounts that Māndhātā, after being instructed by the sage Utathya, followed the instruction without misgiving and thereby achieved undisputed, single-sovereign dominion over the earth.
