Managing Unreadable Kinship Networks: Vāsudeva–Nārada on Cohesion

The verse highlights the ethical weight of speech: harsh, ill-chosen words can wound as intensely as fire. It urges restraint in speaking and sensitivity to how words agitate and ‘burn’ the inner life of others.
Vāyudeva addresses a devarṣi and describes his ongoing distress: the bitter words directed at him repeatedly churn his heart like araṇi-sticks churned to produce fire, and the resulting pain feels like continual burning.
