Chapter 72 — Royal Duty: protection of subjects, taxation, punishment, and appointments
मा सम लुब्धांश्व मूर्खाश्व॒ कामार्थे च प्रयूयुज: । अलुब्धान् बुद्धिसम्पन्नान् सर्वकर्मसु योजयेत्
mā sama lubdhāṁś ca mūḍhāṁś ca kāmārthe ca prayuñjyāḥ | alubdhān buddhisampannān sarvakarmasu yojayet ||
لالچی اور نادان لوگوں کو خواہش اور دولت کے کاموں میں نہ لگاؤ؛ بلکہ جو لالچ سے پاک اور صاحبِ فہم ہوں، انہی کو ہر طرح کے کاموں پر مقرر کرو۔
भीष्म उवाच
Do not entrust responsibilities—especially those involving pleasure and wealth—to greedy or foolish people; appoint the ungreedy and intelligent to all duties, since integrity and discernment protect dharma and public welfare.
