बलात्कृतेषु भूतेषु परित्राणं कुरूद्गह | शरणागतेषु कौरव्य कुर्वन्‌ गार्हस्थ्यमावसेत्‌,कुरुनन्दन! जिन प्राणियोंपर बलात्कार हुआ हो और वे शरणमें आये हों, उनका संकटसे उद्धार करनेवाला पुरुष गार्हस्थ्य-धर्मके पालनसे मिलनेवाले पुण्यफलका भागी होता है

bhīṣma uvāca | balātkṛteṣu bhūteṣu paritrāṇaṃ kuru udgaha | śaraṇāgateṣu kauravya kurvan gārhasthyam āvaset, kurunandana ||

بھیشم نے کہا—اے کورو نسل کے شرفا، اے کورو خاندان کی مسرت! جن جانداروں پر زور و جبر سے زیادتی کی گئی ہو اور جو پناہ لینے آئے ہوں، انہیں خطرے سے بچا کر حفاظت کرنی چاہیے۔ ایسا کرنے والا حقیقی طور پر گارھستھ (گھریلو) دھرم میں قائم رہتا ہے اور درست گارھستھیا سے پیدا ہونے والے ثواب میں شریک ہوتا ہے۔
