आत्मज्ञानमिदं ज्ञान ज्ञात्वा पज्चस्ववस्थितम्‌ । य॑ं ज्ञानेनाभिगच्छन्ति तस्मै ज्ञानात्मने नम:,अन्नमयादि पाँच कोषोंमें स्थित आन्तरतम आत्माका ज्ञान होनेके पश्चात्‌ विशुद्ध बोधके द्वारा विद्वान पुरुष जिन्हें प्राप्त करते हैं, उन ज्ञानस्वरूप परब्रह्मको प्रणाम है

Bhīṣma uvāca: ātmajñānam idaṃ jñānaṃ jñātvā pañca-svavasthitam | yaṃ jñānenābhigacchanti tasmai jñānātmane namaḥ ||

پانچ کوشوں (اَنَّمَیَ وغیرہ) میں قائم باطنِ نفس کے اس علم کو جان کر، پاکیزہ بصیرت سے جس تک اہلِ دانش پہنچتے ہیں—اُس علمِ محض، پرَب्रह्म کو سلام۔

True liberation-oriented wisdom is Self-knowledge: discerning the innermost Self as present through the five sheaths (often understood as annamaya, prāṇamaya, manomaya, vijñānamaya, ānandamaya) and, by purified insight, reaching Brahman whose nature is pure consciousness/knowledge.
