तस्यैवं खिद्यमानस्य धर्म परममास्थित: । कदाचिदतिथि: प्राप्तो ब्राह्मण: सुसमाहितः,एक दिन जब वह इसी तरह सोच-विचारमें पड़ा हुआ कष्ट पा रहा था, उसके यहाँ एक परम धर्मात्मा तथा एकाग्रचित्त ब्राह्मण अतिथिके रूपमें आ पहुँचा
tasyaivaṁ khidyamānasya dharma-paramam āsthitaḥ | kadācid atithiḥ prāpto brāhmaṇaḥ su-samāhitaḥ ||
وہ اس طرح دل ہی دل میں رنجیدہ تھا، مگر اعلیٰ ترین دھرم پر قائم تھا کہ ایک موقع پر ایک نہایت یکسو اور خودضابطہ برہمن مہمان (اَتِتھی) بن کر اس کے پاس آ پہنچا۔
भीष्म उवाच
Even amid personal distress, one should remain established in the highest dharma; the arrival of an atithi (guest) becomes an ethical occasion to practice righteousness through hospitality, restraint, and proper conduct.
A person who has been suffering and reflecting is described as still adhering to supreme dharma. At that moment, a composed Brahmin arrives as a guest, setting up the next episode where the host’s values will be tested through the duties owed to an atithi.
