त्रेतायुगादौ च ततो विवस्वान् मनवे ददौ । मनुश्न लोकभूत्यर्थ सुतायेक्ष्वाकवे ददौ,फिर त्रेतायुगके आरम्भमें सूर्यने मनुको और मनुने सम्पूर्ण जगत्के कल्याणके लिये अपने पुत्र इक्ष्वाकुको इसका उपदेश दिया
tretāyugādau ca tato vivasvān manave dadau | manuś ca lokabhūtyarthaṁ sutāyekṣvākave dadau ||
وَیشَمپایَن نے کہا—پھر تریتا یُگ کے آغاز میں ویوَسوان (سورج) نے یہ تعلیم منو کو دی؛ اور منو نے سارے جگت کی بھلائی کے لیے اپنے بیٹے اِکشواکو کو یہ اُپدیش سکھایا۔
