अश्वशिरो-आख्यानम्

दैवं पित्रयं च सततं तस्य विज्ञाय तत्त्वत: । आत्मप्राप्तानि च ततः प्राप्तुवन्ति द्विजोत्तमा:,श्रेष्ठ द्विज उसीके उद्देश्यसे किये जानेवाले देवता तथा पितृ-सम्बन्धी कार्योंको ठीक- ठीक जानकर अपनी अभीष्ट वस्तुओंको प्राप्त कर लेते हैं

daivaṃ pitryaṃ ca satataṃ tasya vijñāya tattvataḥ | ātmaprāptāni ca tataḥ prāpnuvanti dvijottamāḥ ||

بہترین دْوِج، اس مقصد کے لیے ادا کیے جانے والے دیوی کرم اور پِتروں سے متعلق کرم کو حقیقتاً درست طور پر جان کر، اسی کے نتیجے میں وہ مطلوبہ ثمرات پا لیتے ہیں—وہ ثمرات جو یوں آچرن سے بجا طور پر نفس کو حاصل ہوتے ہیں۔
