शुकस्य वचन श्रुत्वा दिश: सर्वा: सकानना: । समुद्रा: सरित: शैला: प्रत्यूचुस्तं समन््तत:,शुकदेवजीकी यह बात सुनकर कानर्नोसहित सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं, समुद्रों, नदियों, पर्वतों और पर्वतोंकी अधिष्ठात्री देवियोंने सब ओरसे यह उत्तर दिया--
śukasya vacanaṃ śrutvā diśaḥ sarvāḥ sakānanāḥ | samudrāḥ saritaḥ śailāḥ pratyūcustam samantataḥ ||
شُک کی بات سن کر، جنگلوں سمیت تمام سمتوں نے، اور سمندروں، ندیوں اور پہاڑوں نے بھی، ہر طرف سے اُسے جواب دیا۔
शुक उवाच
The verse frames the universe as morally responsive: the directions, waters, and mountains ‘answer’ Śuka, implying that dharma is aligned with the cosmic order and can be discerned beyond merely human opinion.
Śuka has spoken or asked something significant; upon hearing him, the personified elements of the world—directions with forests, oceans, rivers, and mountains—collectively reply from all sides, setting up the content of their response in the following verses.
