This is a concluding colophon indicating that the chapter’s subject is anadhyāya—when and why Vedic recitation/study should be suspended. The ethical thrust is that even sacred learning is governed by discipline and context; dharma includes knowing proper times and conditions for study.
The text is closing a chapter within the Mokṣa-dharma portion of the Śānti Parva. It formally names the chapter (“Account of the causes of anadhyāya”) and gives its chapter number, functioning as an editorial/structural marker rather than a spoken verse-content.
