Janaka–Sulabhā Dialogue on Mokṣa and Non-attachment
एततन्नि:श्रेयसकरं ज्ञानं ते परमं मया । कथित तत्त्वतस्तात श्रुत्वा देवर्षितो नूप,तात! नरेश्वर! यह परम कल्याणकारी उत्तम ज्ञान मैंने देवर्षि नारदजीके मुँहसे सुना था। जिसे यथार्थरूपसे तुम्हें भी बताया है
etad niḥśreyasakaraṃ jñānaṃ te paramaṃ mayā | kathitaṃ tattvatas tāta śrutvā devarṣito nṛpa ||
بھیشم نے کہا—اے عزیز! اے نریشور! یہ نہایت فلاح بخش، اعلیٰ ترین گیان میں نے دیورشی سے سن کر حقیقت کے مطابق تمہیں بیان کیا ہے۔
भीष्म उवाच
That the instruction being given is niḥśreyasa-kara—aimed at the highest good (ultimate welfare and liberation)—and should be received as a truthful, reality-grounded teaching (tattvatas), not merely as opinion.
Bhishma, instructing the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) in the Śānti Parva, concludes or reinforces a doctrinal section by stating that he is transmitting a supreme teaching he previously heard from the divine sage Nārada, thereby grounding it in an authoritative lineage.
