Aging and Death Cannot Be Overstepped

कि मया कृतमेतावद्‌ यो5हं कालमिमं जनम्‌ | मत्स्यो जाल ह्ुविज्ञानादनुवर्तितवानिह,(जिस समय जीवात्माको विवेक होता है, उस समय वह यों विचार करने लगता है--) “ओह! मैंने यह क्या किया? जैसे मछली अज्ञानवश स्वयं ही जाकर जालमें फँस जाती है, उसी प्रकार मैं भी आजतक यहाँ इस प्राकृत शरीरका ही अनुसरण करता रहा

kiṁ mayā kṛtam etāvad yo ’haṁ kālam imaṁ janam | matsyo jāla-hv-ajñānād anuvartitavān iha ||

‘ہائے! میں نے اتنے عرصے میں کیا کیا؟ میں یہاں اسی دےہ-بھاؤ—اسی “شخصیتِ مجسّم” —کے پیچھے چلتا رہا۔ جیسے مچھلی جہالت کے باعث خود ہی جال میں جا پھنسے، ویسے ہی میں بھی آج تک اسی طبعی جسمانی زندگی کی پیروی کرتا رہا۔’
