यथा शुक्लस्य पक्षस्य प्रवृत्तो चन्द्रमा: शनै: । उन महामनस्वी नारदके हृदयमें काम उसी प्रकार धीरे-धीरे बढ़ने लगा, जैसे शुक्लपक्ष आरम्भ होनेपर शनै:-शनै: चन्द्रमाकी वृद्धि होती है

Transliteration

yathā śuklasya pakṣasya pravṛtto candramāḥ śanaiḥ |

Translation

جس طرح شُکل پکش کے آغاز پر چاند آہستہ آہستہ بڑھتا ہے، اسی طرح عظیم النفس نارَد کے دل میں بھی خواہش بتدریج بڑھنے لگی۔
