अध्याय २९७ — श्रेयः, धृति, दान-नियमाः
Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||
پراشر نے کہا—جو لوگ نیک اعمال کے پابند ہوتے ہیں وہ گھڑے ہوئے، فریب آمیز اور سازشی تدبیروں سے جان نہیں گنواتے؛ اور نہ ہی عام دنیوی فطرت سے اٹھنے والے ایسے بہت سے پست طریقوں سے ان کی ہلاکت ہوتی ہے۔
