Akṣara–Kṣara Viveka: Vasiṣṭha–Karāla-Janaka Saṃvāda (अक्षर-क्षर विवेकः)

कि कष्टमनुपश्यामि फलं पापस्य कर्मण: । प्रत्यापन्नस्य हि ततो नात्मा तावद्‌ विरोचते,क्या पापकर्मका कोई दुःखदायक फल मैं देखता हूँ? अर्थात्‌ नहीं देखता। ऐसा मानकर पापमें प्रवृत्त हुए मनुष्यको परमात्माका चिन्तन अच्छा नहीं लगता

kiṁ kaṣṭam anupaśyāmi phalaṁ pāpasya karmaṇaḥ | pratyāpannasya hi tato nātmā tāvad virocate ||

پراشر نے کہا—“گناہ آلود عمل کا پھل بن کر میں کون سا دکھ دیکھتا ہوں؟ کچھ بھی نہیں”—یوں سمجھ کر جو شخص گناہ کی طرف مائل ہو جاتا ہے، اس پر اُس وقت تک آتما (اور پرماتما کی یاد) روشن نہیں ہوتی؛ باطن کی صفائی اور خدا-یاد کی لذّت بیدار نہیں ہوتی۔
