Educational Q&A

Janaka teaches a disciplined life-order: begin with brahmacarya and sense-restraint, enter household life for righteous progeny and yajña, but renounce craving for worldly and heavenly rewards; purify the heart and worship the Supreme with inner integrity.

In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, King Janaka speaks as a teacher, outlining how a person should live—combining social duty (householder responsibilities and yajña) with inner renunciation and purification aimed at the highest good.
