पापात्म-धर्मात्म-लक्षणम् तथा निर्वेदेन मोक्षमार्गः | Marks of the Sinful and the Righteous; Dispassion (Nirveda) as a Path to Liberation

कुक्षिसंधारणाद्‌ धात्री जननाज्जननी स्मृता । अड्जनां वर्धनादम्बा वीरसूत्वेन वीरसू:,“वह गर्भशियमें धारण करनेके कारण धात्री, जन्म देनेके कारण जननी, शिशुका अड्डभवर्धन (पालन-पोषण) करनेसे अम्बा तथा वीर-संतानका प्रसव करनेके कारण वीरसू कही गयी है

kukṣi-saṃdhāraṇād dhātrī jananāj jananī smṛtā | aṅganāṃ vardhanād ambā vīra-sūtvēna vīra-sūḥ ||

رحم میں حمل کو تھامنے کے سبب وہ ‘دھاتری’ کہلاتی ہے؛ جنم دینے کے سبب ‘جننی’ کے نام سے یاد کی جاتی ہے۔ بچے کی پرورش کرنے سے ‘امبا’ اور بہادر اولاد جننے کے سبب ‘ویراسُو’ کہی جاتی ہے۔
