उपपन्त्याभिसम्पन्नान्‌ नित्यं सद्धिर्निषिवितान्‌,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! इस प्रकार हिंसारहित, युक्तिसंगत तथा श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंद्वारा सेवित धर्मोकी ही तुलाधार वैश्यने सदा प्रशंसा की थी

upapantyābhisampannān nityaṁ saddhir niṣevitān | bhīṣma uvāca—yudhiṣṭhira! evaṁ hiṁsārahitaṁ yuktisaṅgataṁ ca śreṣṭha-puruṣaiḥ niṣevitaṁ dharmam eva tulādhāra-vaiśyaḥ sadā praśaśaṁsa |

بھیشم نے کہا—یُدھشٹھِر! اس طرح ویشیہ تُلادھار ہمیشہ اسی دھرم کی تعریف کرتا تھا—جو اہنسا پر قائم، درست استدلال پر مبنی، اور نیک و شریف لوگوں کے ہاتھوں برابر برتا اور سنبھالا جاتا ہے۔
