Tulādhāra defines true ethical steadiness as impartiality toward all and freedom from value-judgments based on material worth—treating earth, stone, and gold alike. This points to inner detachment and equal-mindedness as marks of genuine wisdom.
In the Tulādhāra–Jājali discourse of Śānti Parva, Tulādhāra addresses the ascetic Jājali and describes his own disposition: he claims an even attitude toward all people and a non-attached view of objects commonly prized or despised, illustrating the dharmic ideal of equanimity.
