चिरकारि-उपाख्यानम् / The Exemplum of Cirakārī: Deliberation Before Irreversible Action

धर्मलक्षणमाख्यातमेतत्‌ ते कुरुसत्तम । तस्मादनार्जवे बुद्धिर्न ते कार्या कंचन,कुरुश्रेष्ठ! यह मैंने तुमसे धर्मका लक्षण बताया है; अतः तुम्हें किसी तरह कुटिल मार्ममें अपनी बुद्धिको नहीं ले जाना चाहिये

dharmalakṣaṇam ākhyātam etat te kurusattama | tasmād anārjave buddhir na te kāryā kañcana ||

بھیشم نے کہا—اے کُروؤں میں سب سے برتر، میں نے تمہیں دھرم کی یہ پہچان بتا دی۔ لہٰذا کسی بھی معاملے میں اپنی عقل کو کجی، مکاری یا فریب کی طرف ہرگز نہ لے جانا؛ فہم کو سیدھا اور راستی کے مطابق رکھنا۔
