True ‘gurutva’ (seniority/authority) is validated by conduct: honoring parents, elders, teachers, guests, and gurus, and responsibly caring for one’s children. Neglect of these duties marks adharma and moral degeneration.
Śakra (Indra) is characterizing the Daityas and Dānavas as ethically fallen: despite claiming superiority, they fail in basic social and religious obligations—showing disrespect to revered figures and neglecting the upbringing and protection of their children.
