Adhyāya 2: Nārada’s Disclosure—Karṇa’s Training and the Brahmin’s Curse (Śānti-parva)

ब्र्मास्त्रं वेत्तुमिच्छामि सरहस्यनिवर्तनम्‌ । अर्जुनेन समं चाहं युध्येयमिति मे मति:

brahmāstraṁ vettum icchāmi sa-rahasya-nivartanam | arjunena samaṁ cāhaṁ yudhyeyam iti me matiḥ |

نارد نے کہا— “اے گرو دیو! میں برہماستر کو اس کے چھوڑنے اور واپس کھینچ لینے کے راز کے ساتھ جاننا چاہتا ہوں۔ میرا عزم ہے کہ میں ارجن کے ساتھ برابر کی سطح پر جنگ کر سکوں۔ آپ کی شفقت اپنے تمام شاگردوں اور اپنے بیٹے پر یکساں ہے؛ پس کرم فرما کر مجھے یہ ودیا عطا کیجیے، تاکہ اہلِ دانش یہ نہ کہیں کہ میں سبھی استروں کا جاننے والا نہیں ہوں۔”
