Description of the Path of Meditation
इति श्रीमहाभारते शान्तिपर्वणि मोक्षधर्मपर्वणि भुगुभरद्वाजसंवादे जीवस्वरूपनिरूपणे सप्ताशीत्यधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi bhṛgubharadvājasaṃvāde jīvasvarūpanirūpaṇe saptāśītyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
یہاں شری مہابھارت کے شانتِی پَرو کے موکش دھرم پَرو میں بھِرگو اور بھاردواج کے سنواد کے ضمن میں، جیو کے سوروپ کی توضیح سے متعلق ایک سو اٹھاسیواں ادھیائے اختتام کو پہنچا۔
भरद्वाज उवाच
The chapter is framed as an inquiry into jīva-svarūpa—what the individual self truly is—placing liberation-oriented understanding (mokṣa-dharma) above merely external action, and emphasizing discernment about the self’s essential nature.
This is a colophon-style closing line: it marks the conclusion of Adhyāya 188 in the Śānti Parva’s Mokṣa-dharma section, identifying the setting as a dialogue between the sages Bhṛgu and Bharadvāja and stating the chapter’s topic as the exposition of the jīva’s nature.
