Adhyāya 179 — Bharadvāja’s Reductionist Inquiry into Jīva and Pañcabhūta Dissolution

इषुकारो नर: कश्चिदिषावासक्तमानस: । समीपेनापि गच्छन्तं राजानं नावबुद्धवान्‌

iṣukāro naraḥ kaścid iṣāv āsaktamānasaḥ | samīpenāpi gacchantaṃ rājānaṃ nāvabuddhavān |

بھیشم نے کہا—ایک بار ایک تیر بنانے والا آدمی تھا، جس کا دل و دماغ تیر ہی میں لگا رہتا تھا۔ بادشاہ بالکل قریب سے گزرا، مگر اسے خبر تک نہ ہوئی۔ اس واقعے سے یکسوئی (یک نقطہ توجہ) کی قوت ظاہر ہوتی ہے؛ اسی لیے وہ مثال بن کر ‘استاد’ ٹھہرا۔
