अयं वै जन्मना विप्र: सुहृत्‌ तस्य महात्मन: । सम्प्रेषितश्न॒ तेनायं काश्यपेन ममान्तिकम्‌,वे मन ही-मन कहने लगे, “यह केवल जन्मसे ही ब्राह्मण है; परंतु महात्मा राजधर्माका सुहृद्‌ है। उन कश्यपकुमारने ही इसे यहाँ मेरे पास भेजा है; अतः उनका प्रिय कार्य अवश्य करूँगा। वह सदा मुझपर भरोसा रखता है और मेरा भाई, बान्धव तथा हार्दिक मित्र भी है

ayaṃ vai janmanā vipraḥ suhṛt tasya mahātmanaḥ | sampreṣitaś ca tenāyaṃ kāśyapena mamāntikam ||

بھیشم نے کہا—(بادشاہ نے دل ہی دل میں کہا) ‘یہ شخص صرف پیدائش کے اعتبار سے برہمن ہے؛ مگر وہ اُس مہاتما کا خیرخواہ ہے۔ اسی کاشیپ نے اسے میرے پاس بھیجا ہے؛ لہٰذا میں ضرور اس کے پسندیدہ کام کو پورا کروں گا۔’
