आपद्-राजनीतिः (Āpad-rājanīti) — Policy Options in Multi-Front Crisis

त्वं हि प्रष्टा च श्रोता च कृच्छेष्वनुगतेष्विह । श्रुत्वा मम महाराज न संतप्तुमिहाहसि,महाराज! ऐसे संकट उपस्थित होनेपर भी तुम यहाँ उपयुक्त प्रश्न करते और उनका योग्य उत्तर सुनते हो; इसलिये दुर्योधनके साथ जो संधि न हो सकी, उसको लेकर तुम्हें संतप्त नहीं होना चाहिये

tvaṃ hi praṣṭā ca śrotā ca kṛcchreṣv anugateṣv iha | śrutvā mama mahārāja na santaptum ihārhasi ||

اے مہاراج! یہاں سخت مصیبتیں آ پڑی ہیں، پھر بھی تم مناسب سوال کرتے ہو اور ان کے درست جواب ٹھیک طرح سنتے ہو؛ اس لیے دُریودھن کے ساتھ صلح نہ ہو سکی—اس پر تمہیں یہاں رنج نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔
