Gautama–Yama Saṃvāda: Mātṛ-Pitṛ-Ṛṇa (Debt to Parents) and Śubha-Loka Attainment
भवत् तपोविघधातो वा यदि स्याद् विरमे ततः । यदि वास्ति कथायोगो योडयं प्रश्नो मयेरित:,“यदि मेरे इस प्रश्नसे आपलोगोंकी तपस्यामें विघ्न पड़ रहा हो तो मैं इससे विराम लेता हूँ और यदि आपके पास बातचीतका समय हो तो जो प्रश्न मैंने उपस्थित किया है, इसका आप समाधान करें। मैं इस आशाके कारण और सामर्थ्यके विषयमें ठीक-ठीक सुनना चाहता हूँ। आपलोग भी सदा तपमें संलग्न रहनेवाले हैं; अतः एकत्र होकर इस प्रश्नका विवेचन करें”
bhavat tapovighadhāto vā yadi syād virame tataḥ | yadi vāsti kathāyogo yo 'yaṃ praśno mayeritaḥ |
بھیشم نے کہا— “اگر میرے اس سوال سے تمہاری ریاضت میں خلل پڑتا ہو تو میں فوراً باز آ جاتا ہوں۔ لیکن اگر گفتگو کی مہلت ہو تو میرے اٹھائے ہوئے اس سوال کا حل بیان کرو۔ میں امید کے سبب اور آدمی کی قدرت کی حقیقی حد کو صاف صاف سننا چاہتا ہوں۔ تم ہمیشہ تپسیا میں مشغول رہتے ہو؛ پس اکٹھے ہو کر اس معاملے پر غور کرو۔”
