Śānti Parva 116: Criteria for Royal Servants and Administrative Competence (भृत्य-गुण-प्रश्नः / राजसेवक-लक्षणम्)

एतन्मे संशयस्यास्य राजधर्मान्‌ सुदुर्विदान्‌ । बृहस्पतिसमो बुद्धया भवान्‌ शंसितुगर्हति,मेरे इस संशयका निवारण करके आप दुर्बोध राजधर्मोंका वर्णन कीजिये; क्योंकि आप बुद्धिमें साक्षात्‌ बृहस्पतिके समान हैं

etān me saṁśayasyāsya rājadharmān sudurvidān | bṛhaspatisamo buddhyā bhavān śaṁsitum arhati ||

یُدھِشٹھِر نے کہا—میرے اس شک کو دور کر کے بادشاہت کے ان فرائض کی توضیح فرمائیے جو سمجھنے میں نہایت دشوار ہیں؛ کیونکہ دانائی میں آپ خود بَرحَسپَتی کے مانند ہیں اور انہیں بیان کرنے کے لائق ہیں۔
