गान्धारी-प्रशमनम् — Pacification of Gāndhārī and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel at Hāstinapura
ते समासाद्य सरितं पुण्यामोघवतीं नृप । न्यवसन्नथ तां रात्रिं पाण्डवा हतशत्रव:,नरेश्वर! जिनके शत्रु मारे गये थे, उन पाण्डवोंने उस रातमें पुण्यमलिला ओघवती नदीके तटपर जाकर निवास किया
te samāsādya saritaṃ puṇyām oghavatīṃ nṛpa | nyavasann atha tāṃ rātriṃ pāṇḍavā hataśatravaḥ ||
اے نریشور! پُنّیہ اوگھوتی ندی تک پہنچ کر، جن کے دشمن مارے جا چکے تھے، اُن پاندوؤں نے وہ رات اسی کے کنارے بسر کی۔
युधिछिर उवाच
Even after justified victory in war, one should seek calm and moral re-centering; the choice of a sacred riverbank suggests purification, restraint, and reflection rather than triumphalism.
Yudhiṣṭhira reports that the Pāṇḍavas reached the holy river Oghavatī and spent the night there on its bank, marking a pause in their journey amid the post-battle events of Śalya Parva.
