amitrāṇām adhiṣṭhānād vadhād duryodhanasya ca | bhīma diṣṭyā pṛthivyāṃ te prathitaṃ sumahad yaśaḥ ||
The verse highlights how public renown (yaśas) arises from decisive action in conflict—here, asserting dominance over enemies and eliminating a chief aggressor—while also attributing outcomes to fortune or destiny (diṣṭyā), reminding the listener that success is not solely personal prowess but also conditioned by larger forces.
Sañjaya reports and praises Bhīma’s achievement after the climactic defeat of Duryodhana. He states that Bhīma’s great fame has spread throughout the earth because he established supremacy over the enemy side and brought down Duryodhana.
