शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले नरेश! इस प्रकार दिनकी समाप्तिके समय उन दोनों वीरोंमें वृत्रासुर और इन्द्रके समान क्रूरतापूर्ण एवं भयंकर युद्ध होने लगा ।। गदाहस्तौ ततस्तौ तु मण्डलावस्थितौ बली । दक्षिणं मण्डलं राजन्‌ धार्तराष्ट्रोडभ्यवर्तत

gadāhastau tatastau tu maṇḍalāvasthitau balī | dakṣiṇaṃ maṇḍalaṃ rājan dhārtarāṣṭro 'bhyavartata ||

سنجے نے کہا—پھر وہ دونوں زورآور سورما گدا ہاتھ میں لیے دائرہ وار جنگ کی وضع میں آ کھڑے ہوئے۔ اے راجن! دھارتراشٹر دائیں جانب کے دائرے میں بڑھ کر مقابلے پر ٹوٹ پڑا۔
