Resolve for the Mace Duel

padātir gadayā saṅkhye sa yudhyatu mayā saha | mayā harṣakena saha ucyate—yūyaṃ madhye yaḥ kaścid vīraḥ yo mām ekākinam jetum abhimanyate sa raṇabhūmau padā eva gadayā mayā saha yudhyatām || vṛttāni rathayuddhāni vicitrāṇi pade pade ||

“وہ میدانِ جنگ میں پیادہ، گدا لے کر، میرے ساتھ لڑے۔ میں پورے اعتماد سے کہتا ہوں—تم میں سے جو بہادر یہ غرور رکھتا ہو کہ وہ اکیلا مجھے شکست دے سکتا ہے، وہ رزمگاہ میں پیادہ ہی گدا کے ساتھ میرے مقابل آئے۔ رتھوں کے دنگل تو گزر چکے؛ اب ہر قدم پر جنگ نے عجیب رخ اختیار کر لیا ہے۔”
