अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्

Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report

दुर्योधन न शोचामि त्वामहं पुरुषर्षभ । हतपुत्रौ तु शोचामि गान्धारीं पितरं च ते,'पुरुषश्रेष्ठ राजा दुर्योधन! मैं तुम्हारे लिये शोक नहीं करता। मुझे तो माता गान्धारी और आपके पिता धृतराष्ट्रके लिये शोक हो रहा है, जिनके सभी पुत्र मार डाले गये हैं

sañjaya uvāca | duryodhana na śocāmi tvām ahaṃ puruṣarṣabha | hataputrāu tu śocāmi gāndhārīṃ pitaraṃ ca te ||

سنجے نے کہا—“اے دُریودھن، اے مردوں میں سَرشٹھ! میں تمہارے لیے سوگ نہیں کرتا۔ میں تو گاندھاری اور تمہارے باپ دھرتراشٹر کے لیے سوگ کرتا ہوں—جو اپنے بیٹوں سے محروم ہو گئے ہیں۔”
