Shloka 3

tataḥ paścāt yajñasya sādhanāni haviṃṣi yajñabhāgādhikāriṇaḥ devatāḥ yajñopayogīni dravyāṇi ca kalpayām āsuḥ | tā vai rudram ajānantyo yāthātathyena devatāḥ | na akalpayanta devasya sthāṇor bhāgaṃ narādhipa |

Educational Q&A

Ritual and moral order depend on right knowledge and rightful inclusion: when a legitimate divine claimant (Rudra/Śiva) is not recognized and given his due share, the sacrificial arrangement becomes incomplete and invites disorder.

The gods organize the components of a sacrifice—offerings, recipients, and materials—but because they do not yet understand Rudra’s true status, they fail to allot a sacrificial portion to Śiva (Sthāṇu).
