दुःशासनश्लापि समीक्ष्य कृष्णा- मवेक्षमाणां कृपणान् पतींस्तान् । आधूय वेगेन विसंज्ञकल्पा मुवाच दासीति हसन् सशब्दम्,द्रौपदीको अपने दीन पतियोंकी ओर देखती देख दुःशासन उसे बड़े वेगसे झकझोरकर जोर-जोरसे हँसते हुए 'दासी” कहकर पुकारने लगा। उस समय द्रौपदी मूर्च्छित-सी हो रही थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca | duḥśāsanaś cāpi samīkṣya kṛṣṇām avekṣamāṇāṁ kṛpaṇān patīṁs tān | ādhūya vegena visaṁjñakalpāṁ uvāca dāsīti hasan saśabdam ||
ویشَمپاین نے کہا—دروپدی کو اپنے بےبس شوہروں کی طرف دیکھتے ہوئے دیکھ کر دُشاسن نے اسے زور سے جھنجھوڑا۔ وہ گویا بےہوش ہونے لگی تھی؛ تب وہ بلند قہقہہ لگا کر چلّایا—“لونڈی!”
