Adhyāya 52 (Sabhā-parva): Vidura Invites Yudhiṣṭhira to Hastināpura for the Dice Match
।। प्रीत्या च बहुमानाच्चाप्युपागच्छन् युधिष्ठिरम्
prītyā ca bahumānāc cāpy upāgacchan yudhiṣṭhiram
ظاہری محبت اور دکھاوے کے احترام کے ساتھ وہ یُدھشٹھِر کے پاس گیا۔
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse highlights how outward signs of affection and respect can be used strategically; ethical discernment (dharma-buddhi) requires judging actions by intent and consequence, not merely by polite appearance.
Duryodhana moves toward Yudhiṣṭhira, presenting himself as friendly and respectful—an interpersonal gesture situated within the tense, manipulative setting of the Sabha (assembly), where approaches and words often serve larger political aims.
