Adhyāya 33: Antarvedī-Samāgama, Arghya-Nirṇaya, and Śiśupāla’s Objection
धर्म्यर्धनागमैस्तस्य ववृधे निचयो महान् । कर्तु यस्य न शक््येत क्षयो वर्षशतैरपि
dharmyārthanāgamais tasya vavṛdhe nicayo mahān | kartu yasya na śakyeta kṣayo varṣaśatair api ||
دھرم کے مطابق اور جائز طریقوں سے حاصل کی ہوئی دولت کے سبب اس کا عظیم خزانہ اس قدر بڑھ گیا تھا کہ اگر سینکڑوں برس تک بھی کھلے ہاتھ خرچ کیا جائے تو بھی وہ ختم نہ ہو سکتا تھا۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wealth gained through dharmic, lawful means is portrayed as enduring and socially beneficial; it supports sustained giving and stability, unlike wealth obtained through adharma which is morally and practically precarious.
The narrator describes the extraordinary growth of a person’s treasury due to righteous sources of income, emphasizing that the accumulation became so immense it could not be depleted even over centuries of lavish expenditure.
