जरासंधात्मजश्नैव सहदेवो महामना: । निर्ययौ सजनामात्य: पुरस्कृत्य पुरोहितम्,तदनन्तर जरासंधका पुत्र महामना सहदेव पुरोहितको आगे करके सेवकों और मन्त्रियोंके साथ नगरसे बाहर निकला
Jarāsandhātmajaś caiva Sahadevo mahāmanāḥ | niryayau sa-janāmātyaḥ puraskṛtya purohitam ||
اس کے بعد جراسندھ کے بیٹے، عظیم النفس سہدیَو نے، پُروہت کو آگے رکھ کر، خدام اور وزیروں کے ساتھ شہر سے باہر روانگی اختیار کی۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Royal conduct is shown as dharma-guided: a king acts publicly with ministers and gives precedence to the purohita, signaling that power should be exercised with counsel, restraint, and ritual-ethical legitimacy.
Sahadeva, identified as Jarāsandha’s son, exits the city accompanied by attendants and ministers, with the royal priest placed at the front—indicating a formal, ceremonially sanctioned departure.
